After much experimentation, Gafni found the best way to manipulate recycled cardboard material to create a sturdy bicycle contraption. Since that first workable model, Gafni has redesigned his creation to more closely resemble a typical metal bike.
Gafni estimates the cost of construction materials for one bike is between $9 and $12, and suggests that one retail between $60 and $90 for consumers. These price points will likely be attractive for manufacturers, distributors, and consumers, making the cardboard bicycle a promising new product for the retail market.
