Hillary Camp Assails Obama Anti-Palin Ad

advertisement

Hillary Clinton supporters and Women for McCain leadership are slamming Barack Obama's new ad, titled "His Choice," as sexist and demeaning to women for its depiction of running mate Sarah Palin. The ad features a McCain quote about relying on his vice president for economic advice — and then shows an unrelated clip of Palin winking mischievously at the camera. The implication: She's less than a person to be taken seriously

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Now the tiny fraction of PUMAs still in existence are representing themselves as speaking as "Hillary Supporters"???

Hillary supports Obama.  Guess they don't support Hillary much in defying Hillary's endorsement.

Those who can't get over the fact that Obama is the nominee are traitors to their party and country.

PLease the Clintons don't support O'   they are just being PC for the moment , also they are getting paid.   You talk about ads that ? O's record (slim as it is) or his many radical associates (the fact he was 8 when ayres bombed, I gues that makes it ok then, should we forgive the nazis too since that was 60 years ago ?)  as negative attacks all the while the Obama press only goes positive on him and negative on McC/Palin   esp msnbc (the obama network w/73 % neg coverage of McC )  The Clintons called it like it was in the campaign unready unqualified plays the race card etc

also they are getting paid.

I'm thinking you just pulled that out of your ass.  Can you put it back, please?

Can you bring me any evidence to back up that the Clintons are getting paid by Obama?

Maybe you have the Clintons confused with Joe "The Plumber" Wurzelbacher who now has an agent, a publicist, and a book deal, and is going to pursue a country-western singing career? Not everyone is getting rich off a campaign like Joe is.

There is the reported pay off the campaign debt plus a few other goodies.   Thank O' for making Joe famos , He's the one that attacked him had his history researched and the Obama media parked on his street for weeks. All because O' told him what he's really going to do.  Take your money and give it away to whom he sees fit.

anyone who takes phailin seriously has problems larger than can be fixed by conventional means..

it has little to do with the fact that she is a woman and much to do wioth the fact that she is an idiot.

phailin trys to use her sex as a tool, but fails to realize that such behavior does not work on people with brains in thier heads

then again this is a newsbuster article, so it is hardly to be taken seriously anyway

Psst...I've got news for the PUMAs.  If Palin were a man, she'd still be in Alaska and would have never been offered the VP slot with her knowledge of economics and foreign affairs.

“It’s a sexist example of reducing a woman to an object — a wink — and denying her a voice. Her lips are actually moving, but she’s not allowed to be heard,” says Stephanie Bressler, a Hillary Clinton supporter and women and politics professor at the University of Scranton.

Busting up. Pay backs are hell. Sarah is the one who is called Winky Dinky! That is how SHE no one else portrayed herself. So the wink actions are who she is! And Sarahs lips do move but what she does say, has NO VALUE!

Sarah if you want to play in the big leagues you should first educate yourself about the game before entering!

She IS less than a person to be taken seriously.  It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that she is a woman, it has to do with the fact that she is...well... dumb.

      Slightly misleading headline, there.

Hillary Clinton supporters and Women for McCain leadership

      are not the "Hillary Camp".

Ditto that.  I would change the headline if I were you, Hillary wouldn't be happy if she saw it.

I would hope that that's the impression people will get, because as far as implication, they couldn't lay it on much thicker.

What will Hillary voters end up doing? Voting for Obama or McCain? I suspect many more than predicted will go with McCain/Palin.

Why would they possibly do that.  Just because Palin has a vajayjay doesn't mean she stands for the same things (choice, equal pay, universal healthcare) that Hillary does.

Palin demeaned herself and every other intelligent woman with that ridiculous wink.  I was so embarrassed, knowing how hard it is to be taken seriously in business because of my anatomy. Obama did nothing to her, she did it to herself.  She is using her looks to succeed which is demeaning.

This criticism is so freaking stupid, it hurts. The commercial is clearly saying, "look, he chose this person who's an idiot and a gimmick," (it's Sarah freaking Palin, for chissake), not "look, he chose a pretty woman." Sarah Palin has made her choice to doll up and flirt her way through these last few months. She makes some of the most glaringly idiotic comments I have ever heard televised in my life, and is generally an embarrassment to any woman who, like me, wants very much to be seen as something more than just boobs and a skirt. Criticizing Palin for her pronounced lack of substance is anything but sexist.

Whatever else anyone might think of her, there is no doubt that Hillary Clinton is an intelligent, well-spoken woman who knows what's what. Any women who could support both Clinton and Palin were only interested in casting their votes for a vagina, and they do not deserve to be taken seriously.

You almost have to believe that even the women in this article know their complaints are empty, and are just trying to stir the pot anyway, when you read things like this: "It's a sexist example of reducing a woman to an object — a wink — and denying her a voice. Her lips are actually moving, but she’s not allowed to be heard." I mean, you have to be kind of light in the skull to support Palin to begin with, but that analysis is pure college dorm-room bull@!$%#.
